Anti-aging Properties of Acai


If there's one thing on earth that can be called the anti-aging superfood, it's acai. The berry native to the Amazon rainforest has taken the world by a storm for its heart-friendly and antioxidant properties, the two things that are most vital for anybody who wishes to defy aging and stay younger and healthier with advancing age.

The ingredient that gives acai such awesome powers is anthocyanin, the same compound that is present in red wine and that which makes red wine a craze among healthy heart fans. But acai has much higher concentration of anthocyanin than red wine plus it does not have the so called disadvantages of wine. So it's a real big thing when it comes to healthy heart for a longer living.

Acai has omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids and lots of protein and dietary fiber. The fatty acids are extremely good in improving blood circulation and reducing high cholesterol. As an antioxidant, acai works like magic. In fact, this is one of the top anti-aging properties of acai.

It has been found that acai contains nearly ten times as many antioxidant vitamins than grapes and twice as many as blueberries. Aging increases free radical activity in the body due to which the cells break down very rapidly. Change of configuration in cells and growth of abnormal cells is considered the main reason for cancer. Acai with its extremely strong antioxidant property reduces cell damages dramatically. That is exactly why anti-aging therapists recommend acai to reduce the risk of cellular damage and control the incidence of cancer.
