Plastic Surgery – Risk of Procedure vs. Natural Supplements.Plastic Surgery has emerged as a leading procedure for aesthetic reconstruction, correction of bodily deformities arising out of various factors such as accidents, aging and cellular outgrowth, and removal of congenital marks. Hundreds and thousands of people all over the world are opting for plastic surgery to look and feel better. But, several post-surgery complications that are now being reported are raising serious questions about how safe and risk-free the procedure is. This article is an attempt to find out the risks associated with plastic surgery and suggest natural approaches to avoid the surgery. Though plastic surgery has a wide scope of application – liposuction, rhinoplasty, fixing sagging skin, erasing wrinkles and other visual marks of aging, face lifts, removal of stretch marks etc. – it is increasingly emerging as a risky proposition, particularly for the aged people. Aging introduces a number of signs in the body and contributes to make it somewhat out of shape. Many features like fat bulges, drooping cheeks, sagging skin, appearance of facial lines and wrinkles are associated with aging. To correct these deformities and visual blemishes, there is an increasing tendency among the aging people to opt for facial surgery. However, like different medical procedures, plastic surgery is not without its share of risks and complications. Some of the potential risks of plastic surgery are excessive bleeding, formation of blood clots, post-operative infections, nerve damage, partial paralysis and incision marks in the hairline. Nerve damage is the most important risk, where patients cannot move the muscles in the area where the surgery has been performed. Partial paralysis resulting after plastic surgeries is also not uncommon, where patients have been reported to have developed partial paralyses lasting for several weeks or months. In some extreme cases, such paralysis can be permanent. According to plastic surgeons, patients willing to undergo plastic surgery should be in perfect physical condition. And that is what many of the older people who are opting for plastic surgery are not in. Aging reduces the power of the body to heal on its own. Moreover, it also reduces the immunity of the body making it more prone to infections. That is why aged people undergoing plastic surgery often find it difficult to recuperate fully. The best option for them, therefore, is to go for natural supplements and alternate therapies to correct the deficiencies. While some of the features are only too natural with aging and are hardly avoidable, it is possible to improve some of the conditions through lifestyle changes such as proper dieting, avoiding fat-rich foods, taking adequate rest, exercising regularly and going for conditioning therapies like spa, massage, aromatherapy, hydrotherapy and acupuncture. Many herbs and natural supplements such as Aloe Vera, grape seeds, jojoba oil, fagus silvatica extract, lecithin, niacinamide etc rejuvenate skin and are also rich in antioxidants that reduce free radical hits and minimize cellular damage and formation of abnormal cells. Several herb-based and naturally occurring essential salts and minerals such as the Dead Sea salt-based cosmetic products are available in the market that help to restore skin elasticity, remove wrinkles and fine lines and give it a natural radiance. So, between the plastic surgeon's scalpel with the inherent risks of the procedure and the natural supplements and therapies that give long-term, risk-free results, the choice for a better life and a good looking shape is yours.
