Anti-aging Properties of Yogurt

Better digestion, good-looking skin and less of illness - if that's what you're after, rely on yogurt. For people who are beginning to age, these are the things that drive them crazy. That's why they should make a habit to regularly take at least two servings of yogurt everyday.

Yogurt has bacteria that are beneficial to humans. They are called probiotics. The most common forms belong to the lactobacillus group. These friendly bacteria present in yogurt improve immunity. In aging people, gradual decline of immunity is a natural thing. But, by taking yogurt daily, this effect is set aside to a great extent. When immunity improves, a person falls sick less frequently. He's more fit and active. His pace of aging slows down. That is why daily consumption of yogurt is recommended as an effective way to beat the aging process.

The friendly bacteria in yogurt also break down food easily and help complex food matter to be digested easily. In many Asian countries where adding a lot of spices to make food tastier is a culture, people take yogurt regularly to ease digestion and stay fit and healthy. Aging people often require high protein diets to maintain stable growth of new cells and repair of decaying ones. Yogurt is known to aid digestion of proteins. That is why it must form a regular part of the diet of elderly people.

Yogurt is also good for skin. It has excellent anti-fungal properties. Elderly people suffer a lot from skin infections such as yeast infections, eczema, psoriasis etc. Regular application of yogurt on the affected sites works like magic and cure skin infections permanently, even without medicines. It also makes the skin look bright and well-hydrated. For so many wonderful anti-aging benefits and therapeutic properties, yogurt is a favorite with those who want to defy aging and look and feel younger for longer.
